About The Site
This is just a little history about this website site.
About a year ago I created my first website, called www.garresttsflashgamereviews.blogspot.com, a website devoted to reviewing flash games. It was a website I created in an effort to get readers. The premise was that there just weren’t many websites dedicated to giving their opinions on these easily accessable games. Looking back, though, there was a good reason that there weren’t many websites about it. Flash games are typically these quick and simple games that one may play for 5-10 minutes when they’re bored. People don’t want to read about flash games; they just want to play them. When a review of a flash game takes longer to read than to just play the game, as my reviews tended to be, it’s not hard to see why it never became a popular site.
Three months or so later, I wanted to expand. A simple little blogspot.com site just didn’t cut it. I was never going to get any readers as long as I had that ending tag there, or so I thought. So I payed $10 to take off the tag, and with it birthed my new site, www.garrettsgamereviews.com. This way I could actually write about games people cared about.
Unfortunately, as the months passed, so too did my ambition for the site. Readers dwindled, subscribers hovered around the 3-4 mark, and I had just gotten lazy and stopped writing. Occasionally I would post again to remind whatever soul still remained that I was still alive, but my reviews had come to a stop.
Lately, though, I have had an urge to try again. To start a new website, but with more heart. The standard blogger template just wasn’t meticulously fine-tuned the way I liked it. It wasn’t my website. Doing some research, I saw that making a website the way I wanted to make it really wasn’t all that expensive, so I went for it. I purchased a domain at A Small Orange, and they are now my web host.
So now, here we have my new website. I plan to write pretty much anything game related I think of, be it reviews, news, or things in general that piss me off in games. So welcome to my site. I hope you’ll stay a while.
